Direct Care Staff is the title given to employees who work with our clients and who are not medically licensed. Direct Care Staff are responsible for assisting in all activities of daily living, implementing goals and objectives, logging data, and encouraging the development of social bonds and independent living skills. Our programs are modeled to follow almost a school schedule and direct care staff will act as "teachers". 

General Duties include:
  • Provide vocational training to clients which can include participating in mock interviews, filling out employment paperwork, teaching work etiquette, etc. 
  • Implement day program activities for clients such as independent living skills, vocational skills, academic skills, recreation, exercise, etc.
  • Record keeping and documentation in the form of progress notes, reports, etc.
  • Monitoring client interaction with other program participants
  • Assisting clients out in the community
  • Display enthusiasm and motivational energy when interacting with clients
  • Supervising lunch and lunch cleanup of clients. Some clients will need assistance eating or preparing lunch.
  • General cleaning duties. 
  • Driving clients during day program to sites or on recreation outings
  • Certified Nursing Assistants and LPN"s will handle toileting, feedings, G-Tube feedings, etc. along with direct care staff duties

Requirements for Hire:
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Clean criminal background (all employees undergo a background check!)
  • Minimum high school diploma/GED
  • Minimum 18 years old
  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading and writing in the English language
  • Physical requirements: Must be able to keep up with the pace of the schedule
