Adult Day Programs
DRN operates Adult Day Programs through the Department of Developmental Services at both our Derby and Bridgeport locations. These programs operate Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM with DRN providing roundtrip transportation.
Individuals at day program are matched with similar individuals in group or are, if approved by DDS, provided with one to one staff.

Individual Day Supports
Individual Day Supports are services and supports provided to individuals tailored to meet their specific individual outcomes related to the acquisition, improvement, and retention of skills and abilities to prepare and support an individual for work, community participation, and/or meaningful retirement activities. Individuals who own their own business can be supported if they could not run the business without direct support.
These supports generally originate from the home and take place in the community.
Examples of Individual Day Support activities:
Individual Home Supports
Individual Home Supports are considered residential support and take place outside of the program. These supports assist with the acquisition, improvement, and/or retention of skills and provide the necessary support to achieve personal outcomes that enhance an individual's ability to live in their community as specified in their Individual Plan.
These supports are specifically designed to result in learned outcomes, but can also include elements of personal support that occur naturally over the course of the day.
Examples of Individual Home Support activities:
Personal Supports
Personal Supports provide the assistance necessary to meet the individual's day-to-day activity and daily living needs and to reasonable ensure adequate support at home and in the community to carry out personal outcomes. Services are limited to taking place in the supported individual's own home, family home, and/or in their community.
